Please be advised that the Lee County Hospital Authority will meet on Wednesday, October 8, 5:00 p.m., at the Powell Valley National Bank conference room in Jonesville, VA.
Notice is hereby given that a public hearing for a certificate of public need has been scheduled for Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Lee High School in its auditorium located at 200 Generals Lane in Jonesville, Virginia. The public hearing will begin at 7:00 p.m. and the applicant will be given 15 minutes to present its project. Public comments will follow the applicant's presentation.
The project to be heard is COPN Request No. VA-8110 by Lee County Hospital Authority d/b/a Lee County Community Hospital to establish a 25-bed general acute care hospital (Critical Access) including one fixed CT scanner, one mobile MRI unit, and two general purpose operating rooms. This proposed hospital would reoccupy the former Lee Regional Medical Center located at 127 Health Care Drive in Pennington Gap, Virginia. The projected total capital cost of this project is $8,078,638 which would be financed entirely with a loan from the Virginia Resources Authority. The total capital and financing cost of this project is $12,017,011.
Any interested party may appear at this public hearing and present comments which will be limited to 3 minutes per speaker. Sign-in sheets will be available a 6:00 p.m. Written comments not presented at this public hearing may be sent to the Virginia Department of Health at 9960 Mayland Drive, Suite 401, Henrico, Virginia 23233. The Division of Certificate of Public Need will publish its staff report and recommendation to the State Health Commissioner on October 20, 2014.
